The President of Uzbekistan receives a delegation from Azerbaijan

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan Orkhan Sultanov, who is in Uzbekistan on a working visit.

Mr. Orkhan Sultanov conveyed the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the Leader of Uzbekistan.

The issues of further deepening the alliance and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in implementing the agreements at the highest level were discussed.

The ongoing intensive contacts and fruitful exchanges at various levels, the observed steady growth in mutual trade and investment indicators, the steps the parties took to support and accelerate cooperation projects, and the holding of events in the cultural and humanitarian sphere were noted with particular satisfaction.

Attention was drawn to the importance of strengthening close interdepartmental cooperation and effective coordination of special services in the fight against terrorism, extremism and radicalism, cybercrime, and other modern security challenges.

Enhancing practical cooperation to assist Afghanistan’s economic development was also discussed.
