The President of Uzbekistan receives delegations from the U.S. Parliament

On March 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the U.S. delegation led by Senator Steve Daines and Chair of the House Armed Services Committee, Congressman Mike Rogers.

Issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States and building up multifaceted interaction were discussed.

The high level of bilateral cooperation achieved in recent years, the ongoing active contacts, and the exchanges of visits were noted to be of particular satisfaction. Last September, the first summit of leaders of Central Asian countries and the United States in the C5+1 format and fruitful business meetings was successfully held in New York City.

The President of Uzbekistan highly appreciated inter-parliamentary interaction, particularly the work of the Caucus on Uzbekistan operating in the U.S. Congress.

Trade turnover is increasing, and in 2023, it grew by 30 percent. The number of successfully operating American companies in the Uzbekistan market is also growing.

As an example, the activities of the Air Products company are given, which is implementing investment projects worth over $10 billion in Uzbekistan.

Special attention was paid to continuing active, practical interaction with the states of Montana, Alabama, Washington, California, and Texas, which American legislators represent.

Promising areas of cooperation include education, agriculture, digital technologies, mining, green energy, pharmaceuticals, food industry and others.

An agreement was reached to organize business missions of American regions to Uzbekistan.

Views were also exchanged on current international and regional issues, including the situation in Afghanistan.
