The President of Uzbekistan receives the Special Envoy of the U.S. President

As part of the jubilee events of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, on September 22, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received in his residence Sergio Gor, U.S. Special Envoy for South and Central Asia.

Sergio Gor conveyed the sincere greetings of U.S. President Donald Trump.

Issues of further strengthening the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the United States in the context of implementing the agreements reached during the telephone conversation between the two leaders on September 5 of this year were discussed.

The intensive political dialogue, exchanges of delegations at various levels, and the growing dynamics of business contacts were noted with satisfaction.

In recent days, numerous fruitful meetings and events have been held in New York City with leading U.S. companies. A portfolio of contracts and prospective projects worth over $100 billion has been formed, particularly in the fields of civil aviation, mining, finance and innovation, chemical industry, energy, and other priority areas.

The importance of utilizing the opportunities of the Export-Import Bank of the United States and the DFC Fund to support and promote new projects, as well as the establishment of a joint Coordination Committee to accelerate their implementation, was emphasized.

Special attention was given to cooperation in the areas of security, combating terrorism, and illegal migration.

The schedule of upcoming events was also reviewed.
