President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Uzbekneftegaz JSC and got acquainted with preparing the energy system for the winter season.
Based on the conclusions drawn from the abnormally cold weather at the beginning of the year, measures were taken to increase the potential of the energy system. Internal capabilities have been fully utilized, and networks have been modernized. Extensive work has been carried out jointly with foreign partners. Current issues in institutions, enterprises, and housing stock have been studied and resolved. These events covered every mahalla.
“This year, we allocated 14.5 trillion UZS from all sources to improve the energy system. We provided everything necessary – raw materials, stock, equipment. Now the leaders of the sector need to take full responsibility, plan everything clearly, and ensure a guaranteed supply of energy”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
Over the past year, electricity-generating facilities with a capacity of 675 megawatts have been put into operation. Across the country, 100 substations, 11.5 thousand transformers, and 34 thousand kilometers of networks have been updated.
The issue of a guaranteed gas supply of 5 billion cubic meters has been resolved to ensure a stable supply of natural gas to the population and enterprises. A sufficient supply of gas has been accumulated in underground storage facilities.
The President heard reports from responsible officials on the guaranteed supply of natural gas and electricity during winter.
The Minister of Energy reported on the work carried out this year using allocated funds, the volume of reserves created, the estimated daily requirement, and sources of its satisfaction.
It was noted that from December 1, the energy system will switch to round-the-clock operation. In the coming months, it is planned to commission 8 solar and wind power plants with a capacity of 1.7 thousand megawatts and a gas turbine with a capacity of 500 megawatts in Syrdarya. The production of 900 thousand tons of coal will begin at the Shargun deposit in Surkhandarya region.
A reserve of liquefied gas, fuel oil, transformers, cables, and other necessary spare parts has also been created.
The Head of state emphasized the importance of a stable supply of energy resources, at the same time – ensuring payment discipline. Instructions were given to suppress illegal connections and save energy resources during warm days.
At the event, the heads of Uztrangaz, Khududgaztaminot, Khududiy Elektr Tarmoqlari, and Issiqlik Elektr Tarmoqlari companies also presented reports.
