Nationwide hashar (voluntary work) is done on the eve of the Nowruz holiday in all the regions of this country. In the Republic of Qoraqalpoghiston, north-western Uzbekistan, hashar began fr om the early morning.
Hashar helps to improve territories and to make them more eco-friendly and also to strengthen feelings of kindness, accord and unity in society.
“In this hashar devoted to the Nowruz holiday, more than 1 million 350 thousand people, including more than 850 thousand young people, are taking part. In cooperation with the Kamolot public youth movement, help will be provided for lonely elders and families that need social support,” says the chief of the Qoraqalpoghiston department of the Mahalla public charity foundation, Khojaboy Elmuratov.
Participants in hashar are doing improvement work in parks and neighbourhoods. Special attention is paid to improvement work in places wh ere festive events will be held, around new buildings, services establishments and trading centres. Saplings and flowers are being planted.
According to information from the Qoraqalpoghiston department of the Mahalla public charity foundation, over these two days, improvement work will be carried out in an area of 2,454 hectares, and 311 thousand 800 young fruit trees and 507 thousand 600 young decorative trees will be planted.
In this nationwide hashar, help will be provided to improve the living conditions of elders and families with no breadwinner. In these charity acts, active members of the Kamolot public youth movement and representatives of the wider public are taking part.
