TIME OF NEW FORMATS

Within the Center for Development Strategy in Tashkent organizers have opened a permanent working platform for discussing the implementation of the Strategy for Actions of the national development along five priority areas in 2017-2021.

This hall, like other premises of the center, is well equipped and decorated; there are all conditions for holding press conferences, briefings, seminars and other media events.

First, the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Center for Development Strategy and the International Press Club (IPC) was held. Their leaders Akmal Burhanov and Sherzod Kudratkhojaev signed a document that defines main areas of cooperation in covering the realization of the Strategy for Actions.

Then a seminar "Time of new formats: effective coverage of the Development Strategy" for the representatives of the domestic media was held there. The event organized by the Center, IPC and NAEMM was attended by journalists from leading state and non-state TV and radio companies, print media and Internet sites.

Director of the Development Strategy Center Akmal Burhanov told about some results of the Strategy implementation in the first quarter of this year, noting that success has been achieved in all five priority areas.

In particular, he noted that in the second direction of the Strategy – ensuring the rule of law and reforming the judicial and legal sphere, 14 projects were implemented, and important laws were adopted.

A.Burhanov outlined in detail the implementation of third priority area related to economy development and liberalization. In particular, 10 projects have been implemented in the footwear industry; more than 100 jobs have been created. Three new enterprises were built in the light and textile industries, in which 32 million USD was invested, which contributed to the creation of over 1 thousand new jobs.

Chairman of the International Press Club Sherzod Kudratkhojaev described in detail how the domestic media cover the implementation of the Strategy, noting bоth the positive aspects of this process and some shortcomings. He urged journalists to find new forms of presentation, which will not leave spectators and readers indifferent, not to be limited in materials and broadcasts by press releases, to approach their work creatively.

Practical advice on the preparation of information and analytical materials on the implementation of the Strategy was given by Shahnoza Ganieva, a Member of the Public Council of the IPC, Dinara Dultayeva, Head of the Dinara & Co publishing house, and other well-known journalists.

There was also work in groups; specific proposals and recommendations to cover the Strategy for Actions have been developed.
