Turkish expert: Independence - basis of the achievements of economic development of Uzbekistan

On the occasion of the Independence Day of Uzbekistan, many foreign experts have given their assessments and comments in an interview with Information Agency "Jahon" of the development of our country during the years of sovereign development.

Thus, Director of the Center for International Security Studies (USGAM) professor Mehmet Seyfettin Erol noted that Uzbekistan has chosen its own path of development and state-building, for which the transformations are carried out in stages, relying mainly on internal potential. However, as the expert said, the cornerstone of Uzbekistan put the principle of social justice, human interests and well-being of society.

After independence, the republic’s leadership has developed a national "Uzbek model" of development. According to it the country has a policy of liberalizing the economy, reforming the judicial system, the increase in production of export-oriented industries, the development of culture, education, sports, contributing to the achievement of tangible results in all areas without exception.

At the same time, to realize reform in the sphere of development of democracy, civil society and the improvement of the electoral system, taking into account the spiritual, historical and cultural values ​​of the Uzbek people and the international experience of implementation of democratic principles. The country improved judicial system, which has become the guarantor of effective protection of human rights and ensure genuine independence of the judiciary.

It is also pertinent to note that over the past 24 years, the economy of Uzbekistan grew by almost 5 times, per capita income increased greatly, which indicates an increase in the level and quality of life of the people. Annual GDP growth in the last 10 years exceeds 8%. Radical reforms in the sphere of agriculture are carried out. Population is fully provided the basic foodstuffs. The volume of agricultural production increased overall by more than 2 times, which increased the per capita consumption of meat 1.3 times, milk and dairy products - by 1.6 times, potatoes - 7 times, vegetables - by more than 2 times, fruits - almost 4 times.

The country formed the National model of training, modern system of continuous education has been introduced, two-tier system of higher education consists of undergraduate and graduate programs, established a system of training of highly qualified personnel for various industries. Particularly pleasing international cooperation in the field of education. Cooperation in the field of vocational education with the authoritative foreign international institutions like the British Council, DAAD, Goethe Institute, Korean and Japanese International Cooperation Agency, the UN Development Programme, UNESCO, ADB and others.

Along with education, an integral part of a healthy and harmoniously developed generation is the mass expansion of children’s sports. Its legal basis was the adoption of the Law "On physical culture and sports" and other documents, assisting in the implementation of the state policy in the field of physical education and sport among children, instilling a sense of patriotism in them.
