Astana hosted an event dedicated to the results of the Fifth International “Kazakhstan through the eyes of foreign media” competition. Team of Uzbekistan National News Agency was recognized as the winner among the number of foreign media, who participated in the competition with their articles dedicated to Kazakhstan.
Nearly 90 mass media from more than 20 countries, including the United Kingdom, Russia, Poland and Azerbaijan, participated in the traditional competition held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with Kazakhstan’s Chief Editors Club. They presented over 300 articles.
The editorial staff of Uzbekistan National News Agency was recognized as the winner among the countries of Central Asia and Baltic region, which presented a series of articles on relations of good neighborliness and fraternity, the current state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Publication of the British journalist Gilly Pickup in “Country and Townhouse” magazine, which tells about the journey to Kazakhstan was recognized as the best in the competition of articles by participants from the countries of the European continent, the article of Stephan Lipovtsev from the USA was awarded best publication among the participants of the American continent countries.
Articles of Ayman Abdelhafez al-Zaban from Jordan, devoted to foreign policy of Kazakhstan and the 20th anniversary of Astana, were highly appreciated among journalists from the Middle East and Africa.
From Asia, Australia and Oceania, the jury chose Inderveer Singh from India for his article “Astana: the capital has its own charms and pleasures” published in Business Central Asia magazine. The article describes the architecture of Astana, a brief history of some of the city’s landmarks, and provides details about the city’s dynamic growth.
Within the framework of the competition, the winners visited the cities of Astana, Almaty and Borovoye Resort.
