Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have agreed to develop a unified tourism space by signing an action plan for 2026-2027, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing with the Kazakhstani publication “kz24.news”.

The document was adopted within the framework of the Meeting of the Interparliamentary Cooperation Council and is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the tourism sector.

As noted by Koshanov Yerlan, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, development of cooperation with Uzbekistan is a strategic priority encompassing not only political and economic engagement but also cultural and humanitarian ties. According to him, tourism is becoming one of the key areas fostering closer relations between the two countries.

The signed plan provides for specific measures aimed at developing regional tourism and establishing a unified tourist route. It is expected that this will enable foreign tourists to visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan within a single trip, thereby enhancing the region’s appeal and simplifying travel logistics.

Head of the “Kazakh Tourism” National Company Talgat Gazizov, noted that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan already account for more than half of Central Asia’s tourist flows. He stated that the growing interest in cross-border routes creates additional opportunities for expanding cooperation and increasing the number of tourists.

Experts note that the implementation of joint initiatives will contribute to the development of tourism infrastructure, the growth of mutual tourism exchange and the strengthening of cultural ties between the peoples of the two countries.

It is expected that the adopted measures will also have a positive impact on the economy, facilitate the creation of new employment opportunities, and strengthen the region’s position as a unified tourist destination on the international stage.
