UZBEKISTAN AND MALAYSIA ARE DEVELOPING PRACTICAL COOPERATION IN TOURISM

Uzbekistan and Malaysia - long-lasting partners, among which established strong ties in the economic, cultural, humanitarian, scientific and technical cooperation.

One important aspect of the bilateral relations is the cooperation between tourism administrations of Uzbekistan and Malaysia. Meeting with a delegation from Malaysia headed by the Minister of Tourism and Culture Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz in "Uzbektourism" was aimed at further development and strengthening of bilateral relations in the tourism sector.

During her it was noted that Uzbekistan is interested in attracting direct investment in the Malaysian construction of small hotel complex, rest and food items to the main tourist routes, especially in Samarkand, Bukhara, Khorezm, Tashkent and Surkhandarya regions. However, the Uzbek side has invited ministers and representatives of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia, as well as tour operators interested to participate in the Tashkent International Tourism Fair - 2015, to be held in early October 2015 in Tashkent.

In turn, the Malaysian Minister Dato ’Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome to the delegation "Uzbektourism". He also expressed great interest in visiting their fellow world-famous tourist attraction - Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva, as well as the majestic monuments of Islamic history and culture.
The Malaysian side noted that regular flights NAC "Uzbekistan Airways" from Tashkent to Kuala Lumpur facilitate tourist travel in both directions.

Given the significant investment opportunities, the guests expressed their interest in establishing partnerships by informing investors about Malaysia’s tourist opportunities of Uzbekistan. At the same time, they expressed the view that cooperation in the exchange of experience between the two countries on a bilateral basis, as well as Uzbekistan has a solid experience in the field of tourism.

Head of the delegation noted that it is ready to consider the proposal for an international treaty on cooperation between "Uzbektourism" and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Malaysia on the basis of existing intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed in 2005.
