The 7th meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue was held on May 18, in Dushanbe. It was attended by the heads of foreign ministries of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Japan.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, prospects for practical cooperation of the countries participating in the Dialogue in the areas of trade, investment, development and tourism were discussed at the meeting. A separate session was devoted to issues of regional security and cooperation in this area.

In his speech, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov noted that for 15 years Dialogue has become an important platform for interaction between Japan and Central Asian countries in the field of economics, transport, energy, tourism, education, culture and other fields.

As it was emphasized, according to UN experts, with effective cooperation of Central Asian countries, regional GDP for 10 years can grow at least twice, and this is a real task that the states of the region should set for the sake of mutual prosperity.
