UZBEKISTAN DELEGATION HOLDS NEGOTIATIONS WITH EU COMMISSIONER

On April 1, Uzbekistan delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Tanzila Narbayeva held negotiations with European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development Neven Mimica, in Brussels.

As it was noted during the negotiations, the EU supports President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s reforms, as well as Uzbekistan’s efforts with great interest that are aimed at improving the atmosphere and strengthening the spirit of cooperation in Central Asia.

According to Uzbekistan MFA, the parties confirmed that it is in the interests of the European Union and Uzbekistan to expand the existing partnership, in particular, diversify its practical dimension, referring to financial-technical and grant cooperation. In this June, the EU will approve a new Strategy for Central Asia. Within the framework of this document, it was noted that the European side is ready to increase the quality and number of projects with Uzbekistan, including in such spheres as employment, women’s entrepreneurship, education, public administration and others.
