Uzbekistan – EBRD: Cooperation prospects outlined

A meeting was held between the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov, and representatives of the delegation led by the Managing Director for Financial Institutions of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Francis Malige.

The results of cooperation, plans, and priority initiatives aimed at increasing our country’s economic stability and social welfare were discussed. The issues of accelerating the privatization of banks with state participation, the development of state enterprises, and their transformation were also considered. An exchange of views took place on the organization of student dormitories and initiatives based on public-private partnership.

The parties paid attention to the green economy, particularly increasing energy efficiency, the widespread introduction of green technologies, the development and further support of small and medium-sized businesses, and the efficient use of water resources.
