UZBEKISTAN HAS CHOSEN THE RIGHT PATH OF THE PHASED IMPLEMENTATION OF REFORMS IN ALL SPHERES - EXPERTS OPINIONS FROM GREEK

The Consulate General of our country in Athens with the participation of MPs, representatives of scientific and academic and business circles of Greece conducted a presentation devoted to the modern development of Uzbekistan.

The main purpose of the event was to bring information on large-scale reforms in the political, socio-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as a tourist and investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan carried out in our country to the Greek public.

The presentation on tourist and investment potential of Uzbekistan aroused great interest among the guests. In particular, representatives of the Greek business community got acquainted with created favorable conditions and preferences for foreign investors. It was stressed that political and macroeconomic stability, favorable geographical location of the country in the center of the largest regional markets, developing international transport and logistics infrastructure make Uzbekistan attractive for investments.

A.Andrianopulos, director of the Institute of International Relations in Greece:

— The international prestige of Uzbekistan has been increasing from year to year, strengthening its role in the world community. Today, the republic - is a modern and dynamically developing state. Unlike many other countries, in Uzbekistan there is no external debt, which in turn is a factor serving to strengthen its sovereignty. The country has chosen its own path of development through a phased implementation of reforms in the political, economic and social spheres.

E.Murelatu, Vice President of European Profiles:

— The State program "Year of a healthy mother and child" aimed at further strengthening and development of social protection of mothers and the rising generation system earns particular attention. Allocation of funds for infrastructure development, improving maternal health, and strengthening the material-technical base and human capacities of health facilities indicates the extent and depth of the government’s work in this direction.

— I often visit this wonderful country and have witnessed tremendous transformation carried out in it. In particular, significant progress has been made in the advancement of the national economy, infrastructure, construction of roads and railways. Great attention paid by the government to the strengthening of security and stability, bоth within the State and in the whole of Central Asia, increases its authority in the eyes of the world.

— The world watches with great interest the scene of positive transformations in Uzbekistan and highly assesses its achievements. From the first years of independent development it has been carries out phased modernization and diversification of the economy. Formed investment environment and investor protection measures contribute to the growth of the accumulated investments volume.

— Uzbekistan since joining the International Labour Organization in 1992, has ratified a number of conventions, including on the forced labour and immediate action for the elimination of the worst forms of child labour, and many others. During the years of independence, the country has established a system of public institutions conducting work in this direction. We also know that government organizations are monitoring non-admission of the worst forms of child labor. The organization of various events with the participation of experts of the ILO is a very important and proves the transparency of the reforms in this area.
