On December 28, the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized a press-conference on the theme "About the reforms implemented in the system of state statistics during the years of independence, aimed at introduction of advanced international methodologies and the creation of favorable conditions for entrepreneurs".
Over 25 years of independent development of the Republic, the implementation of strategic objectives to reform the economy and social sphere, based on the broad support of businesses and the creation of a favourable business environment for their successful activities have led to the creation of an effective national economy integrated into the international trade and the global financial-economic market.
As a result of large-scale measures for the empowerment of entrepreneurship, raising its role in the life of the country, the number of small business entities, having legal status, has increased from 125.6 thousand in 2000 to 207.1 thousand in 2016.
One of the most important tools of state control in conditions of sustained economic growth and per capita income is the availability of quality and reliable information, relevant official statistics.
The reduction of the burden on entrepreneurs for the submission of reports, including statistical, play an important role in this process. The State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan has carried out considerable work on simplification of procedures of interaction with business entities.
The Committee has stage-by-stage, on a systematic basis carried out measures to regulate the sources of statistical data, including through the reduction of the state statistical reporting. If in 2000, there were 372 the forms of statistical reporting, in the current year this indicator has decreased almost 3 times, without prejudice to the completeness and quality of statistical information, having made up 127 forms.
In addition, in order to improve the business environment, create favorable conditions for businesses on providing state statistical reporting, a new electronic automated system of collecting statistical reports "eStat 2.0" has been launched. The system is free and operates on the official website of SSC.
As a result, if in 2011, there were only 4% respondents submitting electronic reports, in 2014 this figure reached the level of 98.4%, and in 2015 all reports are taken by the bodies of statistics in electronic form.
Since 2016, the statistical bodies have been working to ensure the implementation of universally accepted methods of calculating the GDP structure and the formation of macroeconomic parameters on the basis of the International Standard Industrial Classification of all Economic Activities.
As a result, it will be easier for entrepreneurs and foreign investors to analyze macroeconomic indicators and to compare the statistical and analytical indicators of Uzbekistan and other countries.
