UZBEKISTAN INTENDS TO IMPROVE ITS POSITION IN WB RATING

The System impact assessment regulations portal has posted the draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On additional measures for further improvement of the ranking of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the annual World Bank’s "Doing business" report”.

The document notes that in recent years, the country has adopted a wide range of measures to create the most favorable business environment for the development of small business and private entrepreneurship.

However, the existing business conditions in Uzbekistan does not meet the requirements of international standards. The implementation of the legislation requirements in the sphere of entrepreneurial activities by managers and employees of certain state bodies remains unsatisfactory.

The draft proposes to establish a permanent inter-ministerial commission for the coordination of work to further improve the ranking of Uzbekistan in the annual "Doing business" rating. The Chamber of Commerce should be appointed as the working body of the commission.

The document proposes the Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Tashkent city administration to conduct surveys on a semi-annual basis, including through "dedicated portal for receiving processing and consideration of appeals and proposals of entrepreneurs", in order to determine the effectiveness of implemented measures.
