Uzbekistan – Korea: training qualified personnel is in the center of constant attention

Strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea is developing rapidly. Diligence, honor and dignity, patriotism inherent in Uzbek and Korean people, as well as devotion to national values and rich history serve as a spiritual basis for this.

History of mutual cooperation is enriched by a large number of joint ventures, commonality in implementation of major projects, mutual assistance in training modern personnel, conduction of cultural and educational activities. It is necessary to recognize the contribution of this country to the involvement and development of the automobile industry in Uzbekistan.

The scale of mutual relations in the sphere of science and education is especially wide. In this direction, the positive result is provided by the cooperation of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies with many universities of South Korea, and opening of Inha University in Tashkent laid the foundation for a new direction in the national system of personnel training.

The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek established regular links with the national universities of Chungnam, Seoul, Hanbat, Gangneung-Wonju, GongShang, Inha and Kyonggi universities, Korea University of Technology and Education, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Polytechnic University, Gwan Jun Institute of Science and Technology, Korea Development Institute, as well as the Asia Pacific Center for Theoretical Physics and the Korean Society for the Atmospheric Environment.

– Our educational institution cooperates with almost 15 scientific centers of South Korea, – says Vice-Rector on academic affairs of the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek D.Jumaboyev. – Scientific symposiums and international conferences have been held for 20 years. Exchange of experience of professors and teachers of universities of the two countries is organized. In these activities, students are taking an active part. Experience has shown that both sides have many aspects to study. Special attention should be paid to innovations in organization of computer, information and communication technology system.

In the first years of independence, in order to establish effective cooperation with the Republic of Korea, the Department of Korean Philology began to operate at Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies. In the system of the university, which is considered in Uzbekistan as a single center for training Korean language philologists, large-scale scientific studies have been carried out in the field of studying the Korean language, linguistics and literature.

Relations in the sphere of scientific cooperation are raised to a qualitatively new stage. Over the past period, significant results have been achieved in the sphere of research of history and culture of our states. Both countries have deeper knowledge of each other, mutual interest has increased. The rapprochement of the two countries served as a powerful impetus for the opening of Inha University in Tashkent.

Almost 700 students are studying at Inha University in Tashkent. Graduates receive diplomas of Inha University (Republic of Korea), which in Uzbekistan are recognized as a document on higher education. Inha University trains highly qualified personnel, who, thanks to their profound knowledge, serve the development of the economy.

According to statistics, graduates of Inha University in South Korea over the past five years are showing their talent and abilities in well-known corporations Samsung, LG Electronics, Hyundai, Samsung SDS, LG CNS, MBN, Sambo Computers, Lotte Information and Communications, as well as in governmental institutions, financial agencies, scientific research laboratories, schools, primary companies. This year, their ranks will be supplemented by the first graduates of Inha University in Tashkent.

In general, cooperation between the two countries with common goals, hopes and aspirations is actively developing in various areas.
