Uzbekistan, Latvia representatives of law enforcement agencies hold Joint Commission on Cooperation Meeting

The 4th meeting of Uzbekistan – Latvia Joint Commission on Cooperation in Combating Organized Crime, Terrorism, Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors has been held via videoconference.

Heads of responsible units of the ministries of internal affairs of Uzbekistan and Latvia discussed a wide range of issues of interaction within the framework of identifying and suppressing various crimes. An agreement was reached on organizing the exchange of experience. Promising areas for development of cooperation were identified.

The need for organizing joint exercises of special forces by conducting them in Uzbekistan or in Latvia was identified as priority joint activities.

The parties also exchanged views on the widespread introduction of new information and communication technologies in the activities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs structures.
