Uzbekistan participated at the workshop of the World Intellectual Property Organization

The representative of the Agency on intellectual property of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated at the workshop organized by the Australian Government jointly with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), reports press service of the Agency.

The workshop took place from March 30 to April 1 at the headquarters of WIPO in Geneva (Switzerland).

The seminar was attended by representatives of more than 40 member states of the WIPO, the European Commission, intergovernmental organizations and secretariats, including UNESCO, the World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations Conference on trade and development (UNCTAD), Organization for food and agriculture (FAO), the African regional intellectual property organization (ARIPO), as well as representatives of more than 20 non-governmental organizations, indigenous and local communities.

The seminar was devoted to issues of intellectual property and genetic resources, traditional knowledge and cultural expressions, as well as the experience of their application at the regional, national and local levels.
