“UZBEKISTAN PEUGEOT CITROEN AUTOMOTIVE” TO PRODUCE ANNUALLY 16 THOUSAND EXPORT-ORIENTED COMMERCIAL VEHICLES

It is envisaged to produce annually 16 thousand “Peugeot Expert” and “Peugeot Boxer” export-oriented commercial vehicles within the framework of the Peugeot’s project in Uzbekistan with a total cost of 133,3 million euros. Such modern vehicles are in high demand in France, Iran, Russia and other CIS countries.

Activities on construction of the plant are being conducted on 45-hectare land allocated in “Jizzakh” free economic zone. Construction and installation activities of the enterprise will continue until May this year. The plant will start production in 2019.

Launching this plant will increase the volume of work in other enterprises of the sector. It is planned to provide at least 50% localization level by attracting about 30 large and over 160 medium and small enterprises of “Uzavtosanoat” JSC, producing automotive parts. More than 600 people will be employed at the new enterprise.
