A delegation from the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, together with representatives of our country’s Embassy, held a working meeting with the leadership of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the talks, parties discussed expanding interaction within existing bilateral ties, as well as elevating cooperation in the field of organized recreation to a new level.

The successful collaboration between the trade union organizations of the two countries was noted, including the implementation of children’s tourism programs: over the past two years, four exchange trips took place, including vacations for Russian children in health camps in Uzbekistan and study visits for Uzbek schoolchildren to Moscow and Saint Petersburg.

A key topic of discussion was the Uzbek side’s initiative to organize vacations for employees of major Russian enterprises involving trade union organizations.

Representatives of the Tourism Committee presented a wide range of Uzbekistan’s tourism opportunities that could be integrated into trade union social programs. Key areas include: cultural and educational tourism in historical cities (Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva), health resort recreation in modernized resort zones and mountain and active tourism in the Tien Shan.
