"Uzbekistan Temir Yollari" SJSRC has started implementation of the second phase of the project for the purchase of electric freight locomotives from the Chinese company CNTIC-CNRDLRC, news agency Uzbekistan Today reported.
A contract for the purchase of 11 O’ZEL electric locomotives was signed. By the end of this year, will also receive the first batch of locomotives.
They were produced in collaboration with the Japanese company Toshiba According to the specifications submitted by the Uzbek railway.
In general, before the end of 2020 SJSRC plans to purchase 32 modern locomotives.
