Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan identify further steps of cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Sardor Umurzakov, has met with the Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for Commerce and Investment, Abdul Razak Dawood, to discuss a range of issues in economic partnership.

The parties indicated a mutual commitment to the implementation of the existing agreements aimed at comprehensive strengthening of Uzbekistan – Pakistan cooperation. The issue of holding regular meetings of Uzbekistan – Pakistan Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as the Business Council and Business Forum with participation of businesspeople of the two countries in November this year in Tashkent was agreed.

Prospects of creating Uzbekistan – Pakistan Investment and Logistics Trade House in Tashkent, focused on transporting Uzbekistan export goods to Pakistan and organizing the delivery of Pakistan goods to Uzbekistan, as well as building its branch in the form of a logistics center in Termez, were considered.

Following the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
