Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Iran's Vice President confirm their intention to enhance economic cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held virtual talks with the Vice President for Economic Affairs of Iran Mohsen Rezaei, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.

According to Uzbekistan MIFT, the current state and prospects for enhancing bilateral economic cooperation were discussed during the talks. The parties noted that mutual contacts of the heads of the two states during the recent summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the 15th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) served as an impetus for further intensification of relations between Uzbekistan and Iran.

The main attention was paid to the sphere of ​​mutual trade. The prospects for enhancing cooperation in the transport and logistics sector were also considered.

The parties discussed the organization of several bilateral events, including the 14th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, as well as a business forum with the participation of representatives of the business communities of the two countries.

Following the talks, an agreement was reached on the development and approval of the roadmap to enhance cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in the investment, industry, trade and transport.
