UZBEKISTAN'S PRESIDENT RECEIVED COMMANDER OF THE UNITED STATES CENTRAL COMMAND

Uzbekistan’s President received commander of the United States Central Command President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 26 April received Joseph Leonard Votel, a commander of the United States Central Command, who arrived in our country with a working visit.

The topical issues of bilateral mutually beneficial and multifaceted cooperation, including in military and military-technical spheres were discussed during the conversation.

The parties exchanged views on the issues of ensuring security and stability in the region. A particular attention was attached to the evolving situation in Afghanistan and prospective of attaining peace in this country.

Joseph Votel sincerely thanked President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for a warm welcome and reaffirmed that the United States of America stand ready to continue the course of dynamic development and reinforcing the Uzbekistan-US relations.
