On January 25, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov has met with the Speaker of the Federal National Council (Parliament) of the UAE, Saqr Ghobash, reports “Dunyo” IA correspondent.
The Speaker noted that Uzbekistan is one of the strategic partners and is of particular importance for UAE leadership.
The Federal National Council fully supported the efforts of the UAE government to develop bilateral relations on a systematic and mutually beneficial basis, taking into account the national interests, and, in turn, noted that through the establishment of inter-parliamentary cooperation, it plans to further develop relations with Uzbekistan.
Federal National Council Speaker supported Uzbekistan’s initiatives on establishing inter-parliamentary friendship groups in the legislative bodies of Uzbekistan and the UAE, signing a Memorandum of Cooperation, as well as organizing visits of deputies of the parliaments of bоth countries in 2021.
An agreement was reached to organize the First Meeting of Uzbekistan – UAE Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group via videoconference, in February this year.
