Uzbekistan – UAE: Issues of creating a genetic laboratory discussed

As part of the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the United Arab Emirates, Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan F. Toshpulatov held talks with representatives of several medical institutions, clinics, and pharmaceutical companies of this country.

At a meeting with Ittihad International Investment LLC officials, a three-stage PPP project worth $70 million was discussed. The first stage provides for equipping 14 district medical associations of Fergana region with multispiral computed tomographs, the second is the installation of 86 units of MSCT equipment in district medical associations and bringing their number to 100, and the third is the creation of specialized reading centers in each region.

According to the ministry’s Press Service, the delegation visited the Burjeel Medical City hospital. An agreement was reached on the construction of a rehabilitation center on a PPP basis with a total cost of $30 million on the territory of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, as well as on participation in the competition for the management of the Maternal and Child Health Center and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Oncology and Radiology under construction in Nukus.

During the visit, the prospects for implementing a project to create a genetic laboratory in Uzbekistan with the assistance of the M42 company were considered.

At a meeting with the private investment company Plenary, an agreement was reached on constructing a modern multidisciplinary hospital for 400-500 beds in Nurafshan on a PPP basis, equipping it with high-tech medical equipment and attracting a professional management company.
