Uzbekistan – UN: at the new stage of reforms

The next event of the International Press Club was dedicated to the 73rd anniversary of the United Nations. It was attended by senators, representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, and journalists.

At the event on “Uzbekistan – UN: priorities at the new stage of reforms”, current problems facing humanity, cooperation of Uzbekistan and the UN in solving them, implementing programs and projects in the interests of people of the region were discussed.

The work carried out by the UN structures in Uzbekistan on ensuring gender equality, healthcare, employment and priority of the law, as well as priority issues regarding regional cooperation, social protection and supporting youth initiatives, countering climate change and the environment were considered.

Information was provided on implementation of the resolution on “Strengthening regional and international cooperation in order to ensure peace, stability and sustainable development in the Central Asian region”. Answers to questions regarding the mitigation of consequences of the Aral tragedy, promising cooperation in the spheres of strengthening stability, fighting crime in Central Asia, education, science and healthcare were given.
