VILNIUS HOSTED THE UZBEK-LITHUANIAN POLITICAL CONSULTATIONS

On October 6, 2015 Vilnius hosted the sixth round of political consultations between delegations of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Lithuania.

Deputy Minister Andrius Krivas led lithuanian delegation.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of common agenda, priority directions of further development of bilateral relations in the political, diplomatic, trade-economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres, as well as on selected topics of international and regional issues.

The parties spoke in favor of expansion of Uzbek-Lithuanian relations, giving them multi-faceted character, activation of the joint mechanisms of cooperation. They stressed mutual interest in strengthening direct contacts between the state and public organizations, leading economic institutes of the two countries, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses.

Lithuanian side has been informed about the forthcoming International Investment Forum which is to be held in Tashkent on November 5-6, 2015.

The meeting participants also discussed proposals for deepening relations in the format of Uzbekistan-European Union, as well as in the framework of UN and other organizations.
