On 31 May 2022, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Vladimir Norov received a delegation of the Organization of Turkic States led by its Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev, who arrived in Uzbekistan on a working visit, MFA reports.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Organization of Turkic States.
The dynamic nature of the development of contacts in the economic, trade, transport, customs, tourism, law enforcement, cultural and humanitarian spheres was noted.
The schedule of the upcoming events held in Uzbekistan together with the Organization of Turkic States was considered, including the Youth Forum (3-4 June, Bukhara), the International Scientific Conference on “The place of the Kokand Khanate in the formation of the cultural heritage and the development of the statehood of the Turkic peoples” (8-11 June, Kokand), a meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture and the Turkic Agro-Forum (3-4 July, Tashkent).
A thorough exchange of views took place on the implementation of initiatives to further enhance collaboration within the Organization of Turkic States, put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the summit of the Organization on November 12, 2021, in Istanbul.
The main attention was paid to issues related to the preparation and holding of the first summit of the Organization of Turkic States to be held this year in Uzbekistan.
