VLADIMIR PUTIN LAYS WREATH AT THE TOMB OF ISLAM KARIMOV IN SAMARKAND

Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Uzbekistan to pay tribute to the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

The Russian leader laid a bouquet of flowers to the grave of Islam Karimov in the cemetery Hazrat Khizr in Samarkand and paid tribute to the memory of the late head of state.

The first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov passed away on September 2 at the age of 78. On September 3, the head of state was buried in accordance with Muslim custom in his native city of Samarkand, where his parents are buried.
