At the Senate’s plenary session, a discussion of the Law “On introducing amendments and addenda to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improvement of the legal framework for corporate relations” took place.
This law is designed to ensure transparency and openness in the securities market and attract foreign investors.
During the discussion, Senate Chairperson Tanzila Narbayeva asked the representative of the Ministry of Justice what measures would be taken against government agencies and organizations that do not comply with the requirements of the Openness Index and how the norms enshrined in legislation work.
In response, Deputy Minister of Justice Alisher Karimov noted that the issue of posting information by government agencies and organizations with state participation in accordance with the Openness Index is under constant monitoring.
This monitoring is mainly carried out by the Anti-Corruption Agency through the electronic platform antikor.uz, and the results are published in the media. Information is also sent to the Senate and other higher authorities. Concerning government bodies that have not fulfilled or fully fulfilled this requirement, proposals will be made to take appropriate measures.
