WORLD POST DAY

Post Day is celebrated annually on October 9 - the anniversary of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), which has been established in 1874 in the Swiss capital Bern. The official announcement about it’s conduct has been made from the podium of UPU Congress which held in 1969 in Tokyo (Japan). Since then, this day is celebrated in many countries around the world.

Postal services play a vital role in the exchange of information and goods. Due to workers in this sector in a timely manner people receive letters, telegrams, money orders, parcels, newspapers and magazines, pensions and benefits.

UPU is the largest delivery network in the world. It consists of 192 countries. Uzbekistan is a full member of the organization since 1994.

National postal operator in our country is "O’zbekiston pochtasi". It was created in 1992 and includes 16 regional branches. Office is developing cooperation with 125 foreign partners, increasing the international postal traffic.

Based on international experience, JSC "O’zbekiston pochtasi" pays great attention to the development of new services based on modern information and communication technologies, ensuring a guaranteed and quality of service throughout the territory of Uzbekistan. To date, the number of computerized postal facilities reached 1728.

There are organized workstations that have a population of new services, such as "electronic money transfer","hybrid remittances".

Through the site of JSC "O’zbekiston pochtasi" everyone can also use an interactive tracking registrable origin to apply for a courier, to buy stamps through the Internet, and get reference information about the postal code, the rules of service tariffs.

One of the most important directions of the organization is to prepare highly qualified specialists. Currently, the staff for this area are prepared at the Tashkent University of Information Technology and its regional branches, as well as 24 professional colleges. It was promoted by Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On improvement of activities in the field of postal communication" of July 19, 2004.

In addition, in a competitive market environment Uzbekistan’s postal organization attaches great importance to the training of its own employees. They are trained at the Center for Corporate Governance Graduate School of Business at the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Center for advanced training of "O’zbekiston pochtasi" and other institutions.

Among the most important tasks of the national postal operator in the period of 2015-2019 marked the further training of specialists in the field, as well as ensuring the work of more than 1.9 thousand graduates of professional colleges and 890 graduates TITU on such specializations as postal services, the economy, the ICT, accounting, management and others. It is also a top priority "O’zbekiston pochtasi" in the near future is to meet high standards of reliability and speed, because it is a valuable and inspires confidence of service users.
