YOUNG CHEMISTS OF UZBEKISTAN BECAME WINNERS OF INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIADS

At the XLVII International Chemistry Olympiad (IChO) in Baku representatives of Uzbekistan won two bronze medals.

The winners of the prizes were students of third year of the Academic Lyceum at the Tashkent Pediatric Medical Institute (TashPMI) - Dilnora Yusupalieva and Boburbek Boltayev.

It should be noted that for them it is not the first award. Last year, under the XLVI IChO in Hanoi (Vietnam) B.Boltaev also won the bronze medal, and the young pupil of the Lyceum became the third on D.Yusupalieva held in Yerevan in May of this year, the International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad.

In general, our compatriots since 2008, participating in competitions in chemistry around the world, have won 28 awards. Of these, 5 gold, 7 silver and 16 bronze medals. A remarkable detail is that the owners of all the awards are students at the Academic Lyceum TashPMI.

Organizer of the XLVII International Chemistry Olympiad is Baku branch of Moscow State University made named after M.Lomonosov supported by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, State Oil Company (SOCAR) and the Heydar Aliyev Center.

Participants in this event were 292 young chemists from 75 countries. For competitive contests watched 250 scientists and specialists.

Despite the fact that the Republic of Uzbekistan is represented on the ICO only in 2013, our gifted children in this period managed to glorify the country among the world chemical community.

In particular, through participation in the IChO XLV and XLVI in Moscow IChO in Hanoi our young chemists have shown unprecedented results by winning five different medals (two "gold", 1 "silver", 2 "bronze"). According to the chairman of the Steering Committee of the IChO D.Li, "no country in such a short period of time did not receive such high honors as Uzbekistan".
