Security and remuneration for work - these definitions have long and firmly entrenched in the image of Switzerland. The formula of life in this country consists of a set of positive characteristics: a prosperous life, a developed economy, high wages, low taxation, a progressive transport system and, of course, an ideal ecology.
Today, Switzerland is also very attractive for investors, because there they can be assured of the safety of their funds. The exceptional reputation of banks is maintained thanks to a stable political situation, a hard currency along with the principle of secrecy.
Maybe, many will surprise, but in the country a highly productive agriculture with the prevailing livestock component, in which emphasis is placed on meat and dairy products. Nevertheless, the basis of the Swiss economy is tourism and the chemical industry.
In other words, the participants of the Uzbek-Swiss business forum had many common themes. The meeting in Zurich, organized by the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce and the Uzbek-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was an important step towards the rapprochement of Uzbek and Swiss entrepreneurs wishing to develop cooperation in various fields. This interaction, as the chairman of the Swiss-Asian Chamber of Commerce Urs Lustenberger noted, was especially actualized in connection with the forthcoming implementation of the Chinese initiative "One belt, one road", as the region of Central Asia, and in particular Uzbekistan, is becoming more attractive for Swiss companies. "We, in turn, are ready to assist in establishing direct business contacts between Uzbek enterprises and Swiss companies," he said.
The presentation of the opportunities of the economy of Uzbekistan was conducted by the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Frankfurt-am-Main Erkin Hamraev. He elaborated on the pharmaceutical and textile industries.
"The entrance to the Uzbek market is very interesting for us, since it is not very well known for Swiss entrepreneurs," said Charles Biaggi, executive director of Clever Ways GmbH. “Thanks to this forum, we have established contacts with the Uzbek pharmaceutical company ANFA. They signed a Memorandum of Intent providing for the sale of Uzbek products in the European market."
